Honda has launched the 2013 Honda CBR500R during the recently held EICMA event in Milan, Italy. The CBR500R is part of the new Honda 500cc trio which includes the CB500X and CB500F. This motorcycle is the fully-faired version of the CB500F. The CBR500R is powered by the same 500cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that also powers the 2013 Honda CB500F and 2013 Honda CB500X. The motorcycle also features Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI).

The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and produces 47bhp and 43Nm. The production-ready 2021 KTM RC 390 has been spotted and looks closer to production, hinting at its imminent launch. It looks exactly like the earlier test mule, however, with new colors.

The bike also features a KTM 390 Duke-esque LED headlamp with indicators integrated into the headlamp fairing, unlike the rear-view mirror-mounted units in the current-generation model. The instrument cluster is likely to be a full-color TFT unit with smartphone compatibility.

For starters, the brakes are a lot sleeker than the ones in the current-generation model. Even the alloy wheels get a sleek 5-spoke design, instead of the 10-spoke units in the version sold at present. The suspension setup is the same as before — a USD fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock.

The motorcycle is likely to use the same state of tune as that of the India-spec BS6-compliant KTM RC 390. The one sold here produces 43.5PS and 36Nm. Expect KTM to launch the bike in India in early-2021. It is likely to command a premium of around Rs 5,000-8,000 over the current-gen BS6 KTM RC 390 which retails at Rs 2,65,897 (ex-showroom,

Honda has given the CB500R’s brakes, twin-piston callipers clamping on a single 320mm wave disc at the front and a single caliper 240mm disc at the rear. As for tyres, Honda has given it a 17-inch rim with 120/70 in front and 160/60 at the rear. The seat height has been adjusted to 30.9 inches making it a good motorcycle for a wider range of riders and a kerb weight of 190kg.
