1. Suzuki GSX S750

The GSX-S750 is Suzuki’s first middleweight naked bike in India; it locks horns with the KTM 790 Duke, the Kawasaki Z900. The instrument cluster is fully digital and continuing with the modern tradition, the tail lamp is also LED. The headlight doesn’t get the fancy LED treatment as it is a halogen unit and the indicator bulb type.

The GSX-S750 employs a 749cc inline-four cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 114.2PS at 10,500rpm and 81Nm at 9000rpm, in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission. The bike comes with a host of electronic aids like three-mode traction control system, low-rpm assist, dual-channel ABS, and an easy start system.

However, it misses out on ride-by-wire, slipper clutch and switchable ABS. But that’s a reasonable trade-off considering the price point where the motorcycle sits. Suspension components include inverted front forks and a rear monoshock, both from KYB. A pair of 310mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc brings this motorcycle to a halt.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with Bridgestone Battleaxe Hyper sport tyres. At a generous 16 litres, the fuel tank should come in handy for touring purposes too.

2. Suzuki V-Strom 1050

Suzuki V Strom 1050 is expected to launch in India in October 2021 in the expected price range of ₹ 14, 00,000 to ₹ 15, 00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to V Strom 1050 are Ducati Multistate 950, Suzuki Hayabusa. Are the similar bikes of V Strom 1050 in current time?

The Suzuki V-Strom 1050 is the latest version of the Japanese brand’s liter-class adventure touring motorcycle which was unveiled at the 2019 EICMA Show in Milan. In essence, it is a heavily updated successor to the V-Strom 1000 with all-new styling, a host of new features, and a tweaked power plant.

In terms of looks, it takes inspiration from the brand’s iconic adventure bikes, the DR Big 750 and 800 of the 1980s. It sports a new square-shaped headlamp with a taller windscreen while the curvy fuel tank of the outgoing model has been replaced by a boxy unit.

Moreover, the beak faring looks beefier now. Suzuki has also added more features such as the dated-looking semi-digital instrument cluster has made way for a full-colour LCD display. Moreover, it also gets a tweaked ECU with faster processor along with improved traction control and three riding modes.

Although the new V-Strom 1050 continues to be powered by a 1037cc, V-twin motor, the power figures have gone slightly up to 105bhp and 100Nm. The engine is now Euro5/BS6-compliant. Suzuki offers the V-Strom in two variants – a standard model with alloy wheels which are shod with road tyres while there’s also an XT trim which rides on alloy wheels wrapped by dual-purpose tyres.

3. Suzuki Katana

Suzuki Katana is expected to launch in India in December 2021 in the expected price range of ₹ 9, 00,000 to ₹ 10, 00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to Katana are Honda CBR 650R, Triumph Bonneville T100 & Ducati Scrambler Nightshift. Another bike similar to Katana is Aprilia RS660 which is launching in July 2021 in India.

The Katana is a name that was in production from 1981 to 2006, and Suzuki has resurrected it for the 2019 model year. It is a street bike that will appeal to those who are not looking for the modernism that the GSX-S1000 offers.
 
Under the skin it will essentially remain the latter bike, but it looks markedly different. The headlamp is still a rectangular unit but an all-LED one. At the rear, there is an interesting styling element, with the rear numberplate holder and turn signals mounted like a rear tyre hugger. The tail lamp sits at the top, in its traditional place at the end of the sub frame.

This gives the illusion of a lot of space between the seat and the rear wheel. Suspension consists of Kayaba-sourced inverted forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear. Brembo supplies the braking and Dunlop Road sport tyres show its intentions as a street bike. It will have the same 150bhp 999cc four-cylinder motor, and a six-speed transmission and a slipper clutch. It will have three-level traction control and ABS.
